Elegance is an Attitude!

 

Above all, style and extravagance are an inner decision and don´t have anything to do with guidelines and least of all with trends. In fashion extravagance expresses itself in body movement, and style is the fabric that caresses a movement. Style and extravagance are gifts afected by the love and desire for life and affected by an open view of the world through tolerance and the size of spirit.

The label Ille von Rott Finest Nightwear & Hostess Gowns was founded by Berlins artist and designer S. Elisabeth Hautmann in 2012. The company´s credo is to revive the haute couture of nightdresses, pyjamas, peignoirs as well as the long-forgotten couture of day dresses and hostess gowns. Inspired by designs from the classical work of art through the classical modernity to the luxurious Hollywood line the cut´s finesse and the fine art of tailoring form the fashion label´s focus.

The selected fabrics come from small manufactures in France, Italy, Portugal and Germany. The manual workmanship takes place in Berlin and Saxony.

The Legend of IVR!

The letters v R stand for von Rott – a name that goes back to my grandmother on my father’s side. Reading ILLE from right to left will spell the nickname I had when I used to live in Munich. Out of this mix I created the name of my label Ille von Rott.

 

 

Wenn man beginnt, Kleidung zu entwerfen, kommt man an der Handtasche, wie auch am Schuh, nicht vorbei. Diese beiden Keypieces stürmen seit jeher die Hitliste der Geschenkewünsche einer Frau an. An den „Schuh“ traue ich mich noch nicht heran – noch nicht – mit der Handtasche ILLE´S FIRST BAG stelle ich eine äußerst aparte Begleitung zur Verfügung.

 

 

 

 

 

Den Entwurf eines Kleides muss man auf den ersten Blick erfassen – dann ist es ein gutes Modell. Egal ob mit Verzierungen, Mustern, Rüschen etc. Der erste Blick zeigt, ob es gelungen ist. Später, beim Fragen nach dem, warum, kann man in die Details gehen. Sich die Nahtsetzung, die Linienführung, die Farbe, wie das Muster genauer betrachten und analysieren. Doch der unvoreingenommene Blick entscheidet. Den, den man hat, wenn man eigentlich an etwas anderes denkt.

 

 

Für mich waren die Ausdrucksmittel nie an eine einzige Kategorie gebunden. Von Anfang an war ich nicht Künstlerin, Journalistin oder Designerin, sondern immer alles.
